Look Ma, no shoes!
The Spawn often gets asked, "Where are your shoes?" Fact is, she doesn't like wearing shoes and mostly doesn't. I've yet to hear a good reason to wear shoes to the library, for instance. Anyhow, I just found a fun website about this very thing! It's called Parents for Barefoot Children. Sometimes the internet amazes me.

I didn't know that existed. But it's about time. The research is finally coming in, and -- no surprise at all to ME, naturally -- the science shows that somehow, a hundred thousand years or so of adaptation by the feet of the human species does a better job by itself than it does when encased in arbitrarily designed chunks of fabric, leather, plastic and metal.
